Where in the World is Peru? 🌎
First, let’s get our bearings. Peru is in South America, bordered by Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, and the Pacific Ocean. It’s a cultural and natural wonderland famous for its diverse landscapes—from the Andes mountains to the Amazon rainforest. Oh, and it’s home to one of the New Seven Wonders of the World: Machu Picchu!

Fun Peru Facts You’ll Love
Alpacas or Llamas? Peru is home to both! Fun fact: Alpacas are the fluffier, smaller ones.
The Potato’s Home: Over 4,000 types of potatoes originated in Peru. Carb lovers, rejoice! 🥔
Highest Navigable Lake: Lake Titicaca, shared with Bolivia, is the world’s highest lake you can sail on.
The Inca Trail vs. Salkantay Trek: What’s the Difference? 🥾
We’ll be trekking one of these iconic trails depending on availability, and trust me, both are epic.
Inca Trail:
The classic route to Machu Picchu.
Features ancient Incan ruins along the way.
Permits sell out fast, so snag your spot early!
Salkantay Trek:
A jaw-dropping alternative.
Includes glacier views and lush jungle trails.
Fewer crowds but just as spectacular!
(Fun fact: Salkantay means “Savage Mountain” in Quechua. Cool, right?)

What’s Included? 🏕️
We’re going all out to make this trek as seamless as possible:
Gear: Tents, sleeping bags, and a duffle bag for your belongings.
Porters: These heroes carry all the heavy supplies so you can focus on enjoying the hike.
Meals: Our chefs will whip up hearty, delicious meals on the trail.
Logistics: We’ll help you book your airfare to Cusco, and the retreat includes private transportation to all our destinations.

Our Home Base in Cusco 🏡
Before and after the trek, we’ll stay in a cozy AirBnB in the heart of Cusco. It’s rented for the entire week, so you can leave extra belongings safe and sound while we’re out adventuring. Cusco itself is an incredible city full of history, colorful markets, and amazing food—perfect for acclimating to the elevation.
What to Pack for the Trek 🎒
Packing light is key, but here are the essentials:
Layers, layers, layers: Weather can go from sunny to chilly in no time.
Good hiking boots: Trust me, your feet will thank you.
Day pack: For snacks, water, and those Insta-worthy photos.
Altitude tips: Stay hydrated, take it slow, and maybe try coca tea—it’s a local favorite for acclimation!

Traveling to Peru: What You Need to Know
