Overview

This weekend retreat is perfect for beginners looking to experience backpacking in a supportive, all-women’s group! We’ll escape the summer heat and head to the Mogollon Rim, where towering pines, historic fireguard cabins, and flowing streams set the scene for a peaceful night in the backcountry.

The Cabin Loop Trail is relatively flat, making it an ideal introduction to carrying a pack and sleeping in the wilderness. Along the way, we’ll cover backpacking essentials like packing a backpack, Leave No Trace principles (including backcountry bathroom etiquette!), filtering water, and setting up camp.

This experience is designed to empower you to confidently take on future backpacking adventures! While the host is not a guide, she is an experienced backpacker who will provide guidance and logistical support before and during the trip.
