Overview
This thrill-seeker’s backpacking retreat is for women ready to take on one of Arizona’s most challenging and rewarding adventures! This trip includes:

A steep, rugged, and hot 2,000 ft descent into the canyon

River crossings, scrambling, swimming, and bushwhacking through canyon wilderness

A hidden oasis at Indian Maiden Falls, featuring crystal-clear natural pools
-
A steep, brutal ascent back up on Sunday
This trip is not for beginners. Participants must have prior backpacking and swimming experience, be physically fit, and be comfortable hiking in heat and rugged conditions. If you’re up for the challenge, this will be one of the most rewarding and unforgettable adventures of your life!

Itinerary
Friday Night (Pre-Trip Campout at Trailhead)

Arrive at trailhead in the evening (carpooling encouraged)

Set up camp at the trailhead (pin will be provided, we will be camping 1 mile from the trailhead, which is accessible without high clearance 4WD)

Welcome campfire (if permitted) + dinner and pre-hydration
Saturday (Hike In – 3.55 miles, ~2.3 miles descent + 1.25 miles river trek)

Early morning start to avoid extreme heat on descent; Gear check + quick breakfast
-
Rugged 2,000 ft descent over 2.3 miles (expect full sun exposure)
-
1.25-mile river trek – rock-hopping, scrambling, wading, bushwhacking
-
Full-body swimming required in two canyon sections (we will float the packs!)

Set up camp near/at Indian Maiden Falls
-
Rest, swim, relax, and enjoy paradise
Sunday (Hike Out – 3.55 miles, ~1.25 miles river trek + 2.3 miles ascent)

Early wake-up, breakfast, and pack up

Repeat river trek & crossings

Grueling 2,000 ft ascent back to the rim (expect extreme sun exposure)

Celebrate an EPIC adventure completed!
