Overview
This is a high-elevation, moderate-hard backpacking retreat designed for women ready to push their limits! We’ll explore the Mount Baldy Wilderness, known for its lush meadows, dense forest, and winding alpine streams.
This adventure is ideal for those looking to level up from beginner backpacking trips. Expect sustained uphill climbs on Day 1, followed by a rewarding downhill trek on Day 2.
While the host is not a guide, she is an experienced backpacker who will provide logistical support, training guidance, and mentorship before and during the trip.
Itinerary
Friday Night (Pre-Trip Campout at Trailhead)
Arrive at camp in the evening (carpooling encouraged)
Set up camp on Forest Road 112 (pin will be provided)
Welcome campfire (if permitted) + dinner and prehydrate
Saturday (Hike In – ~7.5 miles, 2,526 ft gain)
Morning wake-up, quick breakfast, gear check/group packing
Begin our full-day uphill hike (~5-6 hours, moderate to strenuous)
Plenty of breaks to filter water, adjust packs, and fuel up
Arrive at wilderness campsite & set up camp
Relax, enjoy the mountain scenery, and connect with the group
Camp chat: Backpacking skills, high-altitude hiking tips, and Q&A
Sunday (Hike Out – ~7.5 miles, downhill)
Wake up, breakfast, break down camp
Start downhill trek back to the trailhead (~5-6 hours)
Celebrate a completed challenge!
Drive back to Phoenix
